Daughters Of The American Revolution Bestows Highest Award On John Saputo.
Daughters of the American Revolution bestowed its highest award, the Medal of Honor, on retired U.S. Marine Colonel John Saputo last night (May 1, 2014) at the Laurel Oak Country Club. Before he retired from the Marine Corps in 2006 (after three years of active duty and more than 32 years in the Reserves), Colonel Saputo gained a reputation as a highly decorated fighter.
“I’m very honored to get this award from a prestigious organization like this,” Saputo said.
Past recipients include former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, broadcaster Tom Brokaw and Miss America 2000 Heather French Henry.
In his role now as the owner of Gold Coast Eagle Distributing (one of the top Anheuser Busch distributorships), he is very well known for his unyielding philanthropy being involved with over 700 charitable events each year.
