REAL Style continues its three (3) part summer series on “Style with a Cause” – empowering and inspiring women through fashion and beauty and honoring amazing women who help raise funds to give back.
The REAL Style spotlight is on Pinellas-Pasco HEART GALLERY this issue, whose mantra is “Every Child Deserves a Home”. Did you no on any given day, there are more than 3,100 children in foster care in Pinellas and Pasco counties, including 120 available for adoption. HEART GALLERY began with a simple idea. Produce an extraordinary portrait of a foster child and it will capture the heart of prospective parents. Their mission is to increase the number of successful adoptions of local children currently in foster care. Heart Gallery programs include the traveling exhibit of professional portraits and personal biographies of children waiting to be adopted, as well as child specific recruitment and support services for the families along all stages of adoption.
The HEART GALLERY depends on the generosity of big hearts in the community to make these programs possible and their recent “Celebrate Me Home” event on April 15, 2015 was a celebration of children and forever families. The Tampa Bay Rays stepped up to the plate and opened the gates to Tropicana Field for a fun-filled evening of food, entertainment and fund raising; and I had the great pleasure of attending to present We’ve Got Style’s live action item – LUXURY, LIMO & LUNCH – A Saks Fifth Avenue, Fifth Avenue Club, Exclusive Shopping Experience. I witnessed “Style with a Cause” at work that night as the auctioneer empowered and inspired extraordinary women into a bidding war, resulting in a second Luxury, Limo & Lunch event being bought; all for the purpose of raising funds for the HEART GALLERY.
