Conservation Foundation Rated As Top Charity

Business.Org Identifies Florida’s Top Charity.

Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast [1] was recently selected as the top charity in Florida by Business.org, based on measures of financial accountability, transparency, and administrative-to-program cost ratios.

“The Board of Trustees and staff are very proud to have received this distinction,” notes Michael Knupp, board chair. “Conservation Foundation is committed to the wise and efficient use of donor contributions to fulfill our mission of saving land forever for water, wildlife, and people.”

Business.org uses data assembled by Charity Navigator and public reviews to compile their assessments. This recognition signifies commitment to the sector’s best practices, efficiency, and strong performance.

“It is wonderful to be recognized for doing the right thing,” says Christine Johnson, president of Conservation Foundation. “But this is only a part of how we leverage donor dollars for land conservation. Millions more are raised from government sources that don’t flow through our income statement, like the almost $2 million Manatee County put toward our more than $1 million raised for Johnson Preserve on the Braden River.”
