Cat Depot Celebrates Feral Cat Day. Cat Depot will honor National Feral Cat Day on Friday, October 16, 2015, by working with local animal advocates and providing spay/neuter for 16 feral cats from a local colony. Cat Depot has spayed/neutered 1,135 cats and kittens, including 500 feral cats, since the opening of the Rose Durham Cat Care Clinic in November, 2014. Cat Depot Partners With Florida State Animal Response Coalition. Are you ready to help animals during disasters? Take the next step and become a Disaster Animal Responder. The Florida State Animal Response Coalition will hold an Awareness Level Small Animal Sheltering volunteer training class on Saturday, October 3, 2015, from 8:00am-6pm, at Cat Depot. The class will provide the knowledge needed to work in an emergency animal shelter, and give individuals the expertise and practical experience required to become a professional disaster animal responder. Cat Depot And Jdub’s Brewing Company Host Bow Tie Challenge Event. JDub’s Brewing Company in partnership with Cat Depot will host an event on Sunday, August 30, 2015, from 1:00pm-4pm at JDub’s Brewing Company. In honor of Cat Depot’s spokescat, Bow-Tie, a specially crafted beer will be available named Bow-Tie’s Brew. Guests who wear a bow tie will receive $1.00 off their first beer. Cat Depot Still Participating In Two Rescue Cases. Due to health issues, the cats under medical care must remain in the temporary emergency shelter in the Education Center another four weeks. Volunteers are urgently needed to help with cleaning and feeding. There are morning and evening shifts available everyday. Shifts are every morning at 7:30 a.m. and evenings at 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, and 3:00 p.m. on weekends. To sign up for a shift online, click HERE. Board To Facilitate 10-Year Strategic Plan. Cat Depot announced the appointment of a 15-member Advisory Board. The Cat Depot Advisory Board is a non-voting, diverse board that will meet twice a year with terms of two or three years. The Board’s objectives are to assist in moving Cat Depot forward in alliance with the 10-year strategic plan, including expansion, growth, capital campaigns, and greater outreach to increase their donor base and significant giving. Cat Depot is moving to a new storage unit! On Friday, June 5th and Saturday, June 6th Cat Depot is moving to new storage units and they need many hands to help carry and transfer all of their supplies. Moving begins at 11 a.m. each morning. Proceeds were raised at the Felines & Fenders fine lingerie fashion show and auction. Male and female models showcased swim wear, loungewear, nightwear, lingerie and men’s underwear from Sea Cup and Up. Cat Depot Takes On Charlotte County Hoarding Case Cats. Cat Depot, and other local animal organizations, are currently involved with a hoarding case with 60 cats in Charlotte County. Twelve cats have arrived at Cat Depot and are set up in an temporary emergency shelter area. Volunteers are urgently needed to help with cleaning and feeding in the morning and evening for two weeks while the cats receive medical care and can be cleared for adoption.
