Event Sets Record For Net Contribution To Suncoast Charities For Children. The direct and indirect overall economic impact of the 2019 Thunder by the Bay Music and Motorcycle Festival was calculated at over $7.1 Million and generated 5,900 room nights in area lodgings. The event benefits Suncoast Charities For Children and netted over $180,000 for the charity. It was estimated that the multi-day festival had over 50,000 people attend. Suncoast Charities For Children Thanks Sarasota Board Of County Commissioners. Suncoast Charities for Children recognized the Sarasota Board of County Commissioners for their grant support, through Visit Sarasota, towards the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival during their November 27th meeting. The Grand Prix Festival has become a destination event and continues to generate a strong economic and charitable benefit to the area. The 2018 Festival generated an Economic Impact of $21 Million, 14,800 room nights, and $322,000 in total resort & state sales tax recovered by the county. 4th Of July Boat Races Raise Over $100,000 For Suncoast Charities For Children. A recent report conducted by Research Data Market Research revealed that this year’s 34th Annual HotelPlanner Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival contributed $21.9 Million in economic impact to the area, supported an estimated 14,800 room nights, and generated direct expenditures totaling $9.4 Million.
