More than forty real estate and other professionals recently attended a Green Kick Start seminar keynoted by Steve Wooster, National Director of the Green Real Estate Alliance. The event was held at the headquarters of the Manatee Association of Realtors® (MAR) in Lakewood Ranch. Sponsored by Neal Communities, the event established the new Green Real Estate Alliance Committee and increased understanding of the benefits of going green. The seminar educated all attendees about this complex and evolving technology. According to a 2008 Harris Interactive Survey commissioned by Move, Inc. and reported in Florida Realtor Magazine’s March 2009 issue, more buyers (49%) consider green features important than luxury features (31%).
