Sarasota now has something new to brag about with the new 2010 Hooters Calendar! Local Hooters Girls Carra O’Sullivan and Tanya O’Sullivan were selected from over 20,000 Hooters Girls worldwide to be featured in this year’s edition. This year marks Hooters Calendar’s 24th year. Distribution of the calendar is estimated at a half million worldwide, continuing their reputation as the best-selling calendar of its kind.

“The selection process is lengthy and intense, so it is a huge accomplishment for any Hooters Girl to be featured in the Calendar,” said Alexis Aleshire, public relations manager for Hooters of America.

Besides the famous Hooters Girls and jokes of the day the Hooters calendar is unique because the months are out of order. Doug Vollmer, project director and head photographer of the Hooters Calendar states, “As far as the months being out of order, that was how they came back from the printer back in 1986, for proofing. We kind of liked the idea that, in order to find the right month, you had to search through the entire calendar again and that way, you would re-visit all of the girls and jokes again. So you’re not just seeing them for one month, you’re seeing them every month.”
