On Saturday, February 20, 2010 starting at 9:00am Lakewood Ranch Park will be a buzz with activity. The event is open to the entire community, not just limited to Little League families, please join in.

Lakewood Ranch Park is located at: 5500 Lakewood Ranch Boulevard (between Lakewood Ranch High School and the YMCA).

Proposed opening day schedule:

9:00am Welcome by Tim Bazell and Team Introductions
 
9:20am Tim Bazell the State of League and Introduction of 2010 Board Members
 
9:25am Recognition of 2010 Sponsors; Team, Banner and Field
 
9:30am Former Board Members Introduction
 
9:35am Concession Stand Building Unveiling: Introduction of Pat Neal, recognition of local dignitaries in attendance, vendors contributing labor and supplies and current board members donating considerable time (Allen Steinfeld, Doug Myers, Paul Weott, Mike Otis)
 
9:50am 1st pitch by a community leader; Little League Pledge; National Anthem and Ribbon Cutting
 
10:00am-1pm Pittsburgh Pirate players signing autographs, giveaways and “guess your speed” Pirate’s pitching machine. Kid Activities include “dunk the ump” water dunking cage, bounce houses and slides, disc jokey, individual base running contests with medal to winner, team base running contests with medals to winners, Dad home run contest with trophy to winner, raffle items (bats, tickets to Pirates, batting lessons, sports gear), and food (burgers, hot dogs, chicken, shaved ice with flavor choices, candy, ice cream).
 
1:30pm-5pm Scrimmages for all Little League levels
