[1]5th Annual Cattle Barons’ Ball a Real Financial Hit At $80,000.
The American Cancer Society (ACS) reported that the Venice, Florida, Cattle Barons’ Ball was a hum-dinger! Event Chair Kelly Pickering stated the event reached its goals of raising money for the ACS in addition to providing an entertaining, educational and emotional experience for the gathering’s 275 guests. The event took place at the Plantation Golf & Country Club in Venice and attracted attendees from all over Sarasota and DeSoto counties “The event took in approximately $80K through sponsorships, bids on auction items, and ticket sales,” she reported. “This is an almost 10 percent increase over last year.”
[2]Thousands of dollars were also raised for the American Cancer Society’s ROCK (Reaching Out to Cancer Kids) programs between the framed ROCK Kids artwork sales at the event and the “Send a Bear to Camp” drawing, which allowed area residents to buy a chance to win a pair of diamond earrings, valued at over $1,000. Patrick Ewing, of Venice, was the lucky winner of this unique prize.
[3]The Cattle Barons’ Ball will return next year and once again offer community members the opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled evening while raising money for an important and worthy cause.
