Welcome to our celebration in this issue of Lakewood Ranch’s 15th anniversary. Many may not realize it but back in 1982, when I arrived in Sarasota, University Parkway dead ended at Interstate 75. Now University Parkway extends well beyond the interstate and Lakewood Ranch is a bustling residential and commercial hub. Of course in the early days there were the naysayers but the vision, planning and execution quickly overtook them and continues unabated to this day.
