[1]Register Now for Sarasota Youth Opera Summer Workshop.
The Sarasota Youth Opera is opening registration for young people age 8 and up for its Summer Workshop. The 3 week program runs June 14-July 2, 2010, 5 days a week, from 9am-4pm. at the Sarasota Opera House. Tuition is $300 per camper, with a five-percent discount when two or more siblings are enrolled. Limited camp scholarships are available. Campers will bring their own lunches, but two daily snacks will be provided.
The theme this year is Fairytales and Folk Music in Opera. Campers will participate in varied activities, including: opera appreciation, acting and movement, chorus, costumes, stage make-up, sets, and lighting design. The final day of the workshop is an open house, when family members may travel with their campers to classes on a typical workshop day
