[1]Selby Grant Facilitates Van Purchase By First Step Of Sarasota.
First Step of Sarasota, the region’s leader in alcohol and drug addiction recovery programs, announced receipt of a William G. and Marie Selby Foundation grant for $22,000.
The grant was used to purchase a van, in which First Step will transport clients to medical and legal appointments, 12-step meetings, group outings, shopping trips and job interviews.
[2]Bob Piper, Vice President of First Step’s Residential Services, states, “Transportation is an essential service for First Step and its clients. The van ensures the continuity of the services we provide, as well as other related activities.”
First Step has provided high quality, affordable substance abuse treatment and recovery programs on Florida’s Gulf Coast for over 40 years. Last year, nearly 14,000 individuals were served through the agency’s prevention and treatment programs.
