Lynn McDonald and Harriet Torpie are back for the 2010 Recipe for Happiness. This year’s theme is the hilarious Suncoast Golden Girls benefiting the nonprofit iCompassion. [1]The event is planned for October 30, 2010, 9:00am-4:00pm at the USF Campus located at 8350 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, Florida. Diverse women of all ages will come together for a day of FUN and learning. Choose from a creative list of 30 mini workshops. Classes will vary from vegetarian cooking to Improv, soul tattooing to hand building a clay pot, etiquette to chocolate, makeup to dancing, jewelry designing to self-defense. An abundance of creativity will fill the day.
The annual workshop day consists of 30 inspiring seminars, morning delights, lunch, a fabulous gift bag of take home treats, an afternoon chocolate break, vendors and much more, all for only $40. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes/shoes to enjoy a day of giving, learning and laughing.
All proceeds from this event will be donated to iCompassion, a nonprofit organization founded by Sandy Loevner dedicated to discovering options for treating kidney disease. In honor of her late husband, Jerry, an end-stage kidney failure patient, Sandy learned that there is a desperate need to raise awareness among potential donors, patients, and care providers.
