[1]Marie Selby Botanical Gardens Welcomes Jeannie Perales.
Marie Selby Botanical Gardens announced the appointment of Jeannie Perales as Director of Education. Perales comes to the Gardens from the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, where she has served as Assistant Curator of Education. She will be responsible for connecting the first time visitor experience with Selby’s continuing education programs and will also be part of the team developing education programs for the Children’s Rainforest.
Perales hasd a MA in Educational Psychology and a Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education from the University of Colorado in Denver. After spending four years working in the Education Department of the Denver Art Museum, Perales began her work in crafting visitors’ experience and interpretation.
Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is a respected center for research and education as well as a famous orchid showplace. The Gardens is located at 811 South Palm Avenue in Sarasota.
