Joan Erni, Director of Relocation & Referral Services for Michael Saunders & Company, was awarded a seat on the Board of Directors for the prestigious Relocation Directors Council (RDC). A member of the RDC since 1999, Erni will serve a two-year team on the board. During her tenure she will help set policy and manage the relocation activities of over 250 of the largest residential real estate firms in the U.S.
The Relocation Directors Council sets the standards of excellence for the nation’s real estate relocation professionals. Its Corporate and Relocation Management Company Advisory Councils work in conjunction with the Board of Directors to promote the highest ethical and performance standards in the industry. Its membership is comprised of 250 relocation professionals representing over 5,000 real estate offices and 215,000 sales associates nationwide. RDC members have become the trusted source for up-to-date market information, best practices, industry-specific education, and extraordinary relocation service. As members of Worldwide ERC, RDC member services crisscross the globe.
Prior to being elevated to its Board of Directors, Erni served on a majority of RDC’s committees, including as a mainstay of its Membership Committee, Chair of the Mentoring Program, first ever Chairman of the RDC Sponsorship Committee and a participant in the 2010 RDC Strategic Planning Committee. As part of her commitment to maintaining the highest standards of industry professionalism, Erni has earned her Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) and Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) designations from Worldwide ERC.
On a more personal note, her appointment to the board makes her the first ever “second generation” member of the RDC Board of Directions. Her mother, a Long Island real estate management executive, was president of the organization in 2003.
