Icard Merrill Attorney to Receive Florida Bar Award

Icard, Merrill, Cullis, Timm, Furen & Ginsburg, announced that Troy Myers Jr. was awarded the The Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service for 2011 for the 12th Judicial Circuit. This honor recognizes Myers donation of his time representing people who cannot afford legal services. The award is presented annually to one attorney in each of Florida’s 20 judicial circuits, which includes more than 90,000 members of The Florida Bar.

As a firm, it has always been our policy to encourage pro bono work and all manner of volunteerism.”
 
A member of Icard Merrill since 1979, Myers has built a practice that concentrates on matters relating to immigration law, federal and state income and estate tax, business law, offshore organizations, foreign and domestic asset protection, and estate planning. In 2000, Myers became the head of the firm’s immigration department, is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and frequently participates in immigration seminars. He graduated from law school at Samford University, earned a Masters of Laws degree in taxation from the University of Florida, and served as a captain in the United States Air Force.
