Lakewood Ranch Incorporation Meeting.

The next informational meeting to discuss the incorporation of Lakewood Ranch will be held on Wednesday, February 16 at 7:00pm at Town Hall. There will be a brief overview presentation followed by open discussion on all aspects of incorporation.  Since the Incorporation Study Group wants to confirm we have sufficient meeting space or notify you if the meeting is rescheduled, please RSVP to  IncorpStudy@lwrdv.com and let us know if you will be attending.
 
It would be helpful if you could access the web site at www.lwrincorporation.com to get some background on incorporation prior to the meeting.  Information available for review includes the Incorporation Feasibility Study; the Florida State University Report which validates the methodology, assumptions and data used in the study; the proposed city charter; frequently asked questions; and lots of other background information.  Any questions you have regarding incorporation are probably answered on the site.  The study shows that incorporation is financially feasible now and sustainable into the future without any tax or CDD assessment increases. The financial feasibility is partially accomplished because LWR would receive state shared revenues which are taxes currently paid by residents but not returned to LWR today. The feasibility section of the website describes this information in more detail. Overall, the Incorporation Study group wants residents and business people to consider all the information and decide what’s best for them and LWR.
 
Volunteers are currently working on various activities which include finalizing the charter, communication, community presentations, continued analysis of the feasibility study to ensure everything has been considered, preparing transition plans, fund raising, etc. If you are interested, contact us via email at IncorpStudy@lwrdv.com.
