[1]Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Derek Cuff Wins Neer Award.
Venice, Florida’s Dr. Derek Cuff, an orthopaedic surgeon at Suncoast Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine, was awarded the Charles Neer Award. The esteemed annual award is presented by the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) society recognizing the surgeon whose clinical research made a major contribution to the understanding, prevention and care of injuries to the elbow and shoulder.
Dr. Cuff earned his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, and completed his residency at the University of Maryland Medical System and Johns Hopkins Hospital. His additional training includes a Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Cuff’s recent work focuses on rotator cuff repairs and accompanying physical therapy. He also performs minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures and reverse shoulder replacement. Dr. Cuff performs the majority of his patients’ surgeries at Surgery Center At St. Andrews located in Venice, Florida.
