[1]One Donor Makes The Difference In This Year’s Contest.
Every year since 2006, Suncoast Communities Blood Bank and Habitat for Humanity Sarasota join together for their annual Hearts and Hammers blood drive. It is a contest of donors vs. volunteers. Habitat’s volunteers donate blood and Suncoast Communities Blood Bank employees volunteer for Habitat. The organization with the highest number of participants wins the trophy for another year.
[1]On April 27, 2011, Suncoast Communities Blood Bank and Habitat for Humanity Sarasota gathered at ReStore Sarasota at 4088 Bee Ridge Rd. to perform the “Returning of the Trophy” ceremony. Habitat for Humanity Sarasota lost their 2-year winning streak by one donor.
