[1]National Small Business Week Celebrates The Small Business Owner.
National Small Business Week is celebrated the week of May 16th – 20th. It’s this week where the spirit of the entrepreneur is honored. According to a survey taken by The Kaufman Foundation on what motivates an individual to become an entrepreneur, “The primary motivation cited was to “build wealth,” along with the desire to own a company, work for ones self, and capitalize on an untapped business idea.
“This country owes a lot to the ingenuity of the small business owners,” says Bob Melberth, a business coach with The Entrepreneur’s Source in Sarasota. “Entrepreneurs create new businesses and are primary engines for job creation and poverty reduction. They also are responsible for the commercial introduction of many new products and services, and for opening new markets,” Melberth added.
During National Small Business Week, Melberth suggests that consumers remember to support local business and acknowledge their efforts to bring goods and services to the community.
