[1]Lakewood Ranch Community Fund Gala Raises Money To Support Local Charities.
The Lakewood Ranch Community Fund announced that its 2011 Fundraising Gala attracted nearly 200 guests supporting the fund’s mission of improving the quality of life in Lakewood Ranch. The “Geishas, Blossoms & Buddhas Gala” transformed the Fête Ballroom at Polo Grill into an exotic locale with a wandering Geisha girl, a traditional Taiko drummer and stunning Asian décor.
Since 2002, the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund has distributed 167 grants totaling more than $635,000 to 69 non-profit organizations. In 2010, the Fund distributed $56,811 to 14 organizations.
“Our community has proven that this event is one they look forward to and will continue to support for years to come,” said Gala Co-Chairs Barbara Najmy and Ron Masseo. “We are already working on plans for next year’s event, so stay tuned for details.”
