[1]Neal Communities Ranked In Top 100 Nationally.
BUILDER Magazine ranked Neal Communities in 94th place among home builders in the United States based on number of closings in 2010. Neal had 272 closings in 2010 representing a 55% increase over 2009. In 2009 the company was ranked 126th. Neal Communities is one of only two privately owned, Florida builders on the list.
“I am very proud of our team. This is the first time we have made it on the top 100 list,” says Pat Neal, president of Neal Communities. “We have continued to work hard, move forward, create new communities and we have even hired more people, all in efforts of preparing for the uptick.”
According to Hanley Wood, the publisher of BUILDER, the list is compiled from data collected by the magazine through direct survey of the builders. BUILDER Magazine has been compiling the list since 1984. “It’s interesting that more than half of the BUILDER 100 companies managed to increase sales or revenues last year,” says Boyce Thompson, BUILDER’s editorial director.
Neal Communities celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2010, successfully opened three communities, including Central Park at Lakewood Ranch, which sold over 100 homes in less than 9 months. The home builder also started building in Sarasota County and added four new divisions within its family of companies: Neal Signature Homes, John Neal Homes, Charlene Neal pureStyle and Waterscapes Pool & Spas.
