Sarasota Chamber Bestows Honor On Rock Solid Construction President

Marjorie Broughton Named Woman Entrepreneur Of The Year.

Marjorie Broughton, President of Rock Solid Construction Group, was announced as the winner of The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce’s 2011 Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Rock Solid is a Sarasota-based construction firm.

In a video presented at the chamber’s annual Frank G. Berlin, Sr. Small Business Awards luncheon, Broughton commented she attributes much of the success of her company to the relationships she built since its formation, stating, “As a small company you are sometimes limited as to how much time and resources you have available to develop new business, so effective use of personal contacts and building strong networking skills is essential. Once you’ve made the connection, been awarded the project, and exceeded the expectations of your client, they will be your best promoters and will refer you to others. It’s important to constantly build on all your relationships and to support your community as you grow a business.”
