Angela Massaro-Fain, founder and president of Grapevine Communications, was named as a finalist for the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2011 Business Woman of the Year Awards. Grapevine Communications is a leading full-service advertising, marketing and public relations agency.

Out of a record 360 nominations, an independent panel of judges chose 52 Bay Area women as finalists. An awards gala to announce the winners and celebrate the successful businesswomen’s accomplishments occurs Friday, August 19, 2011, at the Vinoy Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg.

“We rely on an arm’s-length, completely independent panel of judges comprised of local business leaders and past winners,” said Bridgette Mill, Publisher of the Tampa Bay Business Journal. “In choosing finalists, the judges look for businesswomen who have gone above and beyond in all areas, from community involvement to business acumen and critical thinking, to achieve a special level of professional success.”

“I’m honored to be one of eight finalists in the Business Services category,” said Massaro-Fain, “and one of only a few finalists from the Sarasota-Bradenton area. I’m looking forward to attending the awards ceremony and getting to know some of the successful women who are rising to the top of their professions and making a difference in our business community.”

This year marks the eighth year of the magazine’s annual awards honoring the region’s most influential businesswomen. Categories for finalists are: Business Services, Education, Entrepreneur, Media, Financial Services, Nonprofit, Technology and Young Business. Winners will also be featured in a special section of the Tampa Bay Business Journal at the end of August.
