The doors open Friday, August 26, 2011, for a FREE CONCERT with The Hip Abduction at St Pete’s Jannus Live. The Hip Abduction, one of the Bay area’s most original bands, crushed it in the courtyard in February. We’ve been wanting to get ‘em back — and here they are.
This crowd-dazzling, horn-laced band mixes tropicalia, reggae, Afrobeat, and jazz influences and splashes on a bit of Dave Matthews-esque jam-band flava.
They’ll be joined by the Orlando’s The Lonesome City Travelers, a rising act that plays high-energy roots music That makes us think of a sublime merger of Mumford and Sons and Wilco. Rounding out the bill is d’Visitors, a manic funk-jazz-ska band.
