Porsche, Breaking New Ground

By Fred Krasne

When Ferry Porsche, the founder’s son of Porsche [1] said “I could not find the sports car of my dreams so I built it myself”, it was the beginning of creating a brand of automobile that is unmatched in racing success, enduring style and function and iconic reverence among automobile enthusiasts. He also said, “I wanted to build cars that were not something to everyone but meant everything to some.”

“The Ritz-Carlton has a global standard for customer service, as does Porsche.”

I personally have been associated with the Porsche brand since 1978, representing these automobiles in Washington D.C., Tampa and currently with Suncoast Motorsports [2] located in Sarasota, FL. It has been an incredible experience to meet fellow Porschephiles over the past three decades and to share the passion of the brand.

Given the crowded luxury automobile market, it is astonishing that over seventy percent of all Porsches ever built remain on the road today. These extraordinary cars are not only remarkable but designed to last. Porsche’s exacting standards of quality and safety have created high performance with outstanding everyday practicality.

Today Porsche is once again breaking new ground, not only with new models, but will be the first auto manufacturer with a globally certified customer-facing workforce. The goal is to create a consistent customer experience worldwide that will be just as well known as the products themselves. Having just returned from Porsche’s five day Brand Ambassador training in Atlanta last month, I am now more than ever enthusiastic about the Porsche Brand.

Porsche’s Brand Ambassador Training focuses on the fact that driving a Porsche is not just about owning a car, it is often the fulfillment of a dream. Today’s customer’s expectations will continue to be exceeded given Porsche’s extraordinary commitment to providing an incomparable experience. Based on Suncoast Motorsports exemplary commitment to these principles, it is one of only twenty dealers nationwide designated as a Premier Porsche Dealer, out of a total U.S. network of one-hundred and ninety-eight dealers.

To further support the Porsche Community Suncoast Motorsports [2] sponsors the event, “Cars & Coffee”, occurring the first Saturday of every month from 8-10 am at the dealership, located at 5005 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231. All are invited to bring their favorite car to display and share their experiences and passion with all who also love their automobiles.

Porsche is a company that is not afraid to tread its own path. Sarasota, not unlike Porsche, is a unique community that is passionate about the finer things in life – beautiful beaches, world class art, exceptional dining and, most definitely, revels in the passion of driving fine automobiles.
