Robert L. Taylor Community $10 Million LEED Certified Facility To Open.

The City of Sarasota announced grand opening of the new Robert L. Taylor Community Complex (RLTCC) recreational facility, located at 1845 34th Street, Sarasota.

The grand opening kicks off with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, September 2, 2011, at 10:00am, followed by an Open House Festival on Saturday, September 3rd, and again on Monday, September 5th, from 10:00am-7:00pm. General membership fees will apply beginning Tuesday, September 6th.

Taylor Community Complex, affectionately known to the Newtown community as “The Rec,” was built in the 1950s and became a community anchor for many individuals, families and organizations throughout north Sarasota. After serving the community for over 60 years, the 13+ acre property underwent a massive $10 million, complete transformation, from a 5,000 sq. ft. building to now a 44,000 sq. ft. interactive campus.
