Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual fundraising walk and the nation’s night to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer. In 2010, the Walk raised more than $45 million for research and patient services.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and provide education and services for patients and their families. Participants walk along a 1.5 mile route in their communities. Those who raise $100 or more are called Champions for Cures, and carry lighted balloons – white for survivors, red for supporters and gold balloons in memory of loved ones lost. Light The Night is an inspiring evening with a carnival style atmosphere that is appropriate for all ages. Before the walk begins participants enjoy food, live music, and activities for the kids.
