The South Florida Museum presents The Heart of the Game as part of the Film Fridays Contenders Series, 6pm on September 30, 2011.
“The Heart of the Game” (2005) PG-13; 103 min. Attending largely white Roosevelt High because her mother thinks she’ll have better opportunities under the school’s coach, a gifted black hoopster puts herself—and her coach– through the wringer as this stirring film explores the complicated relationship between gender, race and sports.
There will be a selection of beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks available for purchase. Please note: The theater may be cold, sweaters or jackets are recommended. Admission is $5 General Admission, $3 Member Admission.
