[1]Suncoast Communities Blood Bank Awarded Sudakoff Grant.
The Suncoast Communities Blood Bank (SCBB) was awarded $75,000 by the Roberta Leventhal Sudakoff Foundation towards the purchase of a new bloodmobile. To date, SCBB has raised $178,900 of the $261,000 needed to purchase the new vehicle, which will come fully-equipped, with state-of-the-science blood collection instruments. Sixty percent of SCBB’s blood collection comes from over 1,000 community blood drives.
The Roberta Leventhal Sudakoff Foundation supports projects which enhance the quality of life in Sarasota with a focus on making an impact.
SCBB is the only blood bank that serves hospitals in all three of the tri-county area. SCBB provides 100% of the blood products and services for Sarasota Memorial Healthcare System, Manatee Memorial Hospital, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, Doctors Hospital of Sarasota, Complex Care Hospital of Ridgelake, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Sarasota, DeSoto Memorial Hospital and Bayflite 2.
