Today we honor ALL American veterans, both living and dead, in remembrance of the sacrifices they made to keep our country free.
[1]Veterans Day was formerly known as Armistice Day. It is an annual holiday honoring military veterans observed on November 11. It is coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world. It also marks the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I.
Of note is that World War I formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the Germans signing the Armistice.
