Blue Skye Lending announced that Jim Cullum, a reverse mortgage specialist, has joined the mortgage brokerage firm based in Lakewood Ranch. Reverse mortgages are a loan product for people over the age of 62 that converts the equity in their home into cash, enabling them to receive a monthly income stream. His goal is to educate seniors about the potential benefits of reverse mortgages, and to help determine if this kind of loan program is right for them.
Cullum received an extensive education in finance at The Regan School of Economics at Merrill Lynch. He worked for Merrill Lynch as a financial consultant for five years in the San Francisco Bay area and moved with his wife to Sarasota in 2003. A member of the Manatee Association of Realtors, he also ischairman of the outreach program at Harvest United Methodist Church.
