[1]North Port EDC Announces Community Development Initiative.
The North Port Economic Development Corporation (NPEDC) announces a Community Development Initiative. The Initiative is a direct result of the North Port EDC ACTION (Active Collaboration That Inspires Opportunity Now) program.
“These projects will focus around four ACTION Initiatives, each of which will be driven by a team of NPEDC members who will focus on the specific outcomes,” said Mimi Steger, North Port Economic Development Corporation president. “These outcomes will include identifying economic engines, recommended location, revenue and expense projections, community partners, funding sources, and realistic time frames for implementation,” she added.
The objective of the initiative is to develop a community plan which engages an integrated set of economic catalysts that encompasses the entire city of North Port. The plan will have specific projects with defined outcomes and realistic time-frames. The four initiatives are: Vision In Progress, Center for Creative Retirement, Downtown and Warm Mineral Springs.
