Festivals of Speed St Petersburg continues to change things up with the addition of a 1966 Trans-Am Shelby Mustang last shown to the public 28 years ago.

This 1966 Shelby built Ford Mustang was #12 of sixteen notchbacks that won the Trans-Am title for Ford in 1966. This particular car has been “put away” in a garage and has not been seen by the public for over 28 years.
It has been prominently featured in virtually every book and periodical featuring Shelby automobiles of note.
The car was owned and driven by the National Trans-Am Champion John McComb.
This car was modeled after the 1965 Shelby GT 350 that was so successful with the exception that the car had to meet the new Trans-Am specifications.
