Taylor Morrison Goes Eco Friendly With Boomerang
Taylor Morrison Implements Jobsite Recycling Program.
In support of environmental stewardship, Taylor Morrison West Florida implemented a new recycling program called Boomerang. Boomerang aims to promote a cleaner and healthier jobsite, while increasing recycling of construction waste products.
Under the Boomerang program, Taylor Morrison constructs on-site recycling collection centers in specific communities where contractors can dispose of waste generated during each phase of construction. Materials eligible for recycling include wood, concrete, cardboard, construction debris and solid waste. Company officials estimate that the program will eliminate the need for two to three dumpsters per home, resulting in a savings of approximately $300 to $450 per house.
“Taylor Morrison is mindful of our environmental impact in whatever we do, from planning developments which preserve wetlands and mature trees to building energy efficient homes,” said Steve Kempton, President for Taylor Morrison West Florida. “The Boomerang program is a win-win for everyone because it keeps our job sites cleaner, makes it easier for contractors to recycle a significant amount of materials that would otherwise go to the landfill, and ultimately provides a cost savings to us as well.”
