[1]Sarasota Area Sports Alliance Honors 2012 Scholarship Recipients.
The Sarasota Area Sports Alliance (SASA) will present its annual 2012 college scholarship awards during a luncheon on Tuesday, May 22, featuring nationally recognized communication and character development expert Steve Shenbaum. Scott Dennis, ABC 7 anchor, will be the master of ceremonies for this exclusive SASA-hosted event. The awards luncheon will be held at the Holiday Inn at Lakewood Ranch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The cost is $30 per person.
“Mr. Shenbaum has worked with leading sports professionals in the MLB, NBA, NFL and numerous collegiate teams. SASA is pleased to share Steve’s powerful and inspirational message with our 2012 scholarship recipients, their families and the general public,” said Joe DiPuma, SASA president.
A dynamic presenter, Shenbaum uses improvisation and role-playing techniques to help sports professionals and others improve self awareness and creativity while embracing the power of honesty, humility and positive humor. Shenbaum has been featured in Sports Illustrated, Sporting News, New York Times, The New Yorker, LA Times, BBC Network, Big Ten Network, ESPN “Outside the Lines”, ESPN News, ESPN The Magazine and ABC News.
