December marks the one-year anniversary of Koontz & Associates, a Sarasota-based law firm focusing on residential and commercial real estate transactions, federal and state tax law, and business law, among other areas of practice.
Jo Ann Koontz, who has practiced in the Sarasota area for six years, officially opened her own firm on December 6, 2011. “It has been a whirlwind year of continued growth,” said Koontz, who now has a staff of seven and plans to add a third attorney next year.
“Thanks to our great clients, dedicated staff, and family and friends, we are proud to announce this important business milestone,” said Attorney and Certified Public Accountant Jo Ann Koontz. “We are grateful to the real estate and business communities, and the community at large, for their support.”
An Ohio native, Koontz received her bachelor’s in Business Administration and her law degree from Ohio Northern University. Because of her dual certification as an Attorney and CPA, she is a sought-after speaker on the tax implications of short sales, foreclosures and other legal transactions.
