This issue is all about change. From the change embracing exclusivity to introducing real estate in a new fresh way. Markets are changing, people are changing, and, the Sarasota city skyline is about to see a dramatic change.

This issue we explore change from two directions; personal and structural. The first encompasses the passion and drive of Tom Mannausa to erect a signature mixed use luxury tower on Sarasota’s bay front. From the opposite direction we take in the architecture of what will become The Jewe ^[2]l of Sarasota.

With the need for additional space to properly construct The Jewel, the intersection of Main Street and Gulfstream Avenue is slated for change starting April 22nd when two long time establishments, Living Walls and The Sports Page, make room for The Jewel.

Change is inevitable, and albeit sometimes sad, I’m excited at the change taking place all around us.
