Country Club East Acreage Acquired

Lakewood Ranch And Starwood Land Ventures Announce Partnership.

Schroeder-Manatee Ranch (SMR) and Starwood Land Ventures (SLV) announced the formation of a new jointly owned entity to acquire the remaining land in Country Club East. The transaction will encompass roughly 475 acres, or more than 600 existing and yet-to-be-developed lots. The ongoing project manager will continue to be LWR Communities.

The new venture will contribute to construction of the new 10,000+ square-foot clubhouse and the new driving range at the Royal Lakes golf course. The golf course itself, however, is not part of the sale and will remain wholly owned by SMR.

SLV’s presence on the Ranch is one of the reasons they were selected for the venture. “SLV has been headquartered here for years and is familiar with SMR’s ideals and Lakewood Ranch as a community,” said Rex Jensen, SMR’s president and CEO. “They understand our commitment to quality.”

No significant changes in the project are anticipated. “If anything, it’s likely to speed development,” Jensen continues.

Country Club East is one of 10 villages in Lakewood Ranch, and is a private, gated community built around lakes, nature preserves and 18 holes of Rick Robbins-designed golf. Every home built in Country Club East meets the Florida Green Building Coalition’s standards for energy efficiency, clean indoor air, sustainability and drought resistant landscaping.
