Blind Student Enjoys ZIP Line Experience

TreeUmph! Adapts Park To Support Special Needs.

TreeUmph! Adventure Course, a treetop obstacle course, provided an exciting ZIP line experience for eleven-year-old Brandon Cox, a visually impaired student from Lakewood Ranch.

With the help of a TreeUmph! guide and the encouragement of his parents, Anita and Chad Cox, Brandon enjoyed the net walkways, wobbly bridges with rope handholds, and thrilling treetop ZIP line of the adventure park’s Junior Course. “Brandon loved every moment of his adventure,” said mother Anita. “We knew what a special experience this was going to be for him, because beyond the sights of zipping, it is the feeling of exhilaration from soaring through the air and above the trees that is the most powerful.”

TreeUmph! Adventure Course adapted their park to allow individuals with visual impairments and certain disabilities to participate. When booking, TreeUmph! asks guests to indicate if any persons on the tour are either visually impaired or if they have a disability, so they may handle the booking appropriately. “We were so happy to be a part of Brandon’s incredible journey,” said Aaron Corr, co-owner of TreeUmph! Adventure Course. “To watch him glide through the ZIP line with such joy and fascination reminded us that some of our guests experience the speed and thrills of our course in ways we could never imagine.”
