What is ARC’s Emergency Medical Fund (EMF)?
Animal Rescue Coalition’s EMF is based on their belief that all animals deserve a second change. By collaborating with local animal services agency and veterinary partners, ARC works diligently on the daunting task of providing medical treatment to abandoned, sick and abused animals in dire need of care. Since the EMF’s implementation, ARC has funded medical care ranging from minor infection treatment to major surgical procedures giving innocent animals a second chance in life. The program began in 2003 and was a direct response to a plea for help for the many injured dogs and cats that are abandoned or lost but still adoptable. Previously, there were no resources for the county animal services to handle these cases and the animals would be euthanized.
