Home Resource Presents Upon This Rock.
Home Resource announces that Roxanne Fay is returning to Home Resource to perform Upon this Rock, a play that is written and performed by Roxanne. The performances will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday June 10-12th at 7pm.
Upon this Rock is a first person narrative of the life of Mary Magdalene and her journey as a follower of the man called the Jesus of Nazareth. This play is derived from the novel of the same name. The novel goes into more depth and tells much of the Magdalene’s history before Jesus. .
Upon this Rock is not a sermon. It is a work of fiction, based on the author’s study of both historical and religious sources. The play travels well outside the boundaries of a simple sketch of the woman offered in the Nicean gospels of the New Testament and introduces a women of substance, the kind of life she was born to and the subversive path that she ultimately chose. Upon this Rock strives to make flesh of the woman who is called the “Apostle of the Apostles.”
Roxanne Fay (Studio Associate Artist) has performed at Home Resource in Lark Eden, Shakespeare’s Bitches. The Life of Gala Dali, Much ado about Nothing and Home Fires Burning. Roxanne was recognized as runner up as “Best Actress in a Play” in 2011 for the State of Florida.
