One-Hour Daily Local Talk Show Set To Air.
ABC 7 (WWSB-TV) announced plans to launch “Suncoast View,” a one-hour, locally-produced daily talk show. It will premiere Monday, September 8th and air weekdays at 4:00PM. The program’s format is inspired by the ABC Network’s popular, long-running talk show, “The View.”
Jeff Benninghoff, Vice President of Broadcast, Calkins Media (ABC 7’s parent company)/General Manager of ABC 7, said, “Over the years, we have carried a variety of nationally syndicated programming, currently ‘The Doctors,’ in the 4:00PM time period. However, our company believes strongly in localism, so we have been looking for more opportunities to produce local programming. After much internal analysis, we have come to believe that a locally produced, daily talk show at 4:00PM is the perfect vehicle to accomplish this.”
“Suncoast View” will have a dynamic team of regular co-hosts, each with different backgrounds and life experiences, as well as frequent guest co-hosts. The afternoon chatfest will feature the co-hosts discussing local “hot topics” in the news, sharing their opinions and engaging in lively conversations on every day issues and subjects such as parenting, relationships, cooking, fashion, entertainment, home & garden and even politics. The program will also include interviews with newsmakers and stories trending on social media.
