Annabelle From Sanibel Celebrates 10 Years

“Annabelle From Sanibel” Surviving Hurricane Charley.

Sarasota Author, Jane Kirschner-Tuccillo remembers writing her first children’s book, sitting peacefully on Siesta Beach, one Sunday morning, back in 2000.  The poetic lines seem to flow onto her yellow legal pad, like a Spring shower.  Yet, once out of the sun with the sand brushed off her feet, when she re-read her scrawl, she realized…. something was missing!

She tossed the manuscript into the drawer and from time to time, would read it over, trying to figure out why it didn’t Pop. So the yellow pad sat until August 13, 2004 when Hurricane Charley paid an unwelcome visit to the southwest coast of Florida, leaving millions of dollars of damage to thousands of residents, including hundreds on Sanibel Island.

Suddenly, there it was…. the missing link, named Charley!

The first in a series of Annabelle books was born, and so far it has sold nearly 2,000 copies world-wide.  If you have a child, who perhaps fears Hurricanes, especially this time of year, make sure you get a copy of this delightful book, with its own glossary of “Florida words” for young readers and….

Don’t worry, it ends happily and actually on a Sweet Note!  After all, it’s a children’s book, but the recipe included will have your mouth watering too.

Personalized, autographed copies of the book can be ordered, delivered in the U.S. for $15.00.   Email the author at:  Jane@AnnabelleFromSanibel.net [1]
