December 4, 8, 9, 2014 Home Resource Theater

Home Resource Presents Lark Eden, Is It Feasible & The Dream Of A Ridiculous Man.

Home Resource announces the return performances of the plays LARK EDEN and IS IT FEASIBLE? and the introduction of a new play THE DREAM OF A RIDICULOUS MAN. Each play will only be performed once.

LARK EDEN
LARK EDEN will be performed on December 4th starting at 7pm. LARK EDEN was written by Natalie Symons and will be performed by Roxanne Fay, Katherine Tanner and the author Natalie Symons.

According to TheatreMania, LARK EDEN “explodes with raw emotion…. is deeply moving and surprisingly hilarious…. one of the most moving experiences I have ever had in the theatre.” The play, presented through a series of letters, traces the life-long friendship of three Southern women in Lark Eden, GA – a town that may not be the paradise its name implies. Beginning in the Depression era and continuing through the early years of the 21st century, the play explores the ties that bind three lifelong friends “as tightly as family and as surely as love,” says Symons. From frog-catching girls with skinned knees to world-wizened grandmothers, LARK EDEN follows the women through personal trials and victories set against the historical tribulations that provide the backdrop for these everyday American lives.

IS IT FEASIBLE?
IS IT FEASIBLE? will be performed on December 8th at 7pm. The play was adapted from three short stories of popular Bulgarian writer and humorist known as Chudomir, to portray a man who moves from a village to the capital city of Sofia where the realism of Communist Bulgarian life hits him. This one man play has been developed and will be performed by FSU Asolo Conservatory graduate Zlatomir Moldovanski.

According to the Bradenton Times “Moldovanski has created a thoroughly-entertaining and culturally-rich theater experience that kept the audience doubled over in laughter from start to finish.”

And Jay Handelman in his review stated that “The piece is alternately funny and touching and constantly surprising.”

After its successful New York premiere, at the 2014 United Solo Festival, Zlat brings his play to Home Resource for one last time!

THE DREAM OF A RIDICULOUS MAN
THE DREAM OF A RIDICULOUS MAN will be performed on December 9th at 7pm. Zlatomir Moldovanski’s newest solo project, The Dream of a Ridiculous Man, is a dramatization of the short story by literary genius Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

A gripping tale of a man’s dive into despair, nothingness, and deplorable indifference. When we are left to be the judges of our own existence and purpose, how quickly do our own demons deprive us of hope? What does it take for us regain the innocence with which we are born?
