Bill Mills, Club President of the Lakewood Ranch Digital Photography Club (LWRDPC), announced the group has reached a new milestone with now over 200 club members.
The club was formed in 2009 with five founding members. The founding members created the format for the meetings, set up a structure for the club and set objectives. Flyers and posters were designed and advertised through Lakewood Ranch Town Hall. “When I joined LWRDPC just over four years ago, I was looking for a club that not only improved my photography skills but which had a spirit of sharing and camaraderie too,” Mills said.
There were approximately 60 members when Mills joined the club and he witnessed the club’s addition of its 100th member in June 2013. The blend of continuous learning coupled with having fun has helped the club grow from 100 to over 200 members in less than two years. At the same time, the skills of everyone have grown proportionately with our membership surge. “We’re excited to exceed 300 members in the near future,” Mills says.
Membership in the Lakewood Ranch Digital Photography Club is open to all photography enthusiasts on the Florida Sun Coast. Applications are accepted from beginners through enthusiasts to professionals.
