Jay Exum, PhD To Speak At Public Forum.
The public is invited to join the discussion about environmental topics related to the Parks, Preserves and Recreation Master Plan on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, from 10am-noon, at the William Little Health and Human Services building at 2200 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota. The event features wildlife ecologist Jay Exum, PhD. Dr. Exum has provided ecological expertise on issues including endangered species, wetlands ecology and mitigation, and large scale conservation planning.
The Parks, Preserves and Recreation Master Plan will guide the development, re-development, and enhancement of the County’s and Cities’ parks, preserves, athletic fields, community centers, recreation facilities, programs and services for the next 20 years. Public open houses, pop-up events, focus groups, recreation program user interviews, onsite intercept interviews, on-line survey, interviews with elected officials, advisory council meetings, and staff are all part of the process.
