Mother Nature WINS Desoto’s Tribute To The Legends.
The day started clear (but HOT), the Teams brought out their “A” game, the Pits were full of racers in every division and the REAL girls were ready to rumble. The Homestead Team brought the #16 Ford NASCAR (with a Display that rivaled any NASCAR Display) and all the Tickets and ways to play to WIN them. The Legends were there meeting and greeting all the Fans that filled in the stands. It looked to be all it was hyped to be.
Then the sky’s to the North started darkening (like a Hollywood “The End of the Earth” movie). Lightning CLEARED the stands and sent EVERYONE heading for a safe place!!!! Mother Nature put on a light show from the Wizard of Oz. After almost an hour of hard rain track owner, Denny Meyer, had no choice but to call the EVENT.
Having many from Show Time (it was their night off due to Bristol’s Night NASCAR Race) they were to put on a Show that the Fans would of LOVED! Thanks to all the Legends of the Late Models, all the Fans, First Responders, Manatee School Employees, Gator Plumbing, Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch’s, Auto Nation Bradenton Ford, Pep Boys, REAL Magazine, all the GREAT Staff of the Speedway and all the others who thought Mother Nature would be kind.
As we all know the Show must go on. Desoto Speedway will Make up the Late Model on September 12th. The Show Time Challenge will be in a month (on their next night off from their home track), for the updates for the Mini Cups and the other divisions keep an eye out on KARNAC, Desoto Speedway’s web page, or Facebook page.
NEXT WEEK will be another GREAT night of Desoto style of racing. The Theme is “Back to School Night at the Races”. The lineup will be the “Q” Auto & Injury Attorneys / FASTRUCK Pro Touring Challenge and the Street Stocks, Mod Mini, Legends, Bombers, and always a crowd favorite the Schools Bus Fig 8’s. Here’s who invited. All the Student of the 2015/16 School year. The Sarasota Y/ Safe Children Coalition (the Foster Kids Program), The Kids Place, Mom’s Baby’s, and The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches.
Also we will re-invite all the folks back from last night’s round with Mother Nature: All the First Responders, Manatee School Employees , Gator Plumbing, Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch’s, Auto Nation Bradenton Ford, Pep Boys and all the Fans.
