A Way Out.

Manatee Educational Television (METV) in conjunction with the Sarasota Film Festival (SFF) announced the World Premier screening of their latest documentary A WAY OUT, on Saturday, October 24th at the Manatee Performing Arts Center.

A WAY OUT is an incisive look at the darkness of domestic violence, and one woman’s heroic journey from a terrible abusive relationship and near death, to becoming an inspirational force for other women to find a way out of the dangers of domestic violence and abuse.

The documentary features insight from victims of domestic violence as well as from Heather Doyle and Lisa Chittaro of the States Attorney’s Office. Major Connie Shingledecker and Det. Carrie Perry from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office play an important part in the documentary as they talk about the special problems that are inherent in domestic violence cases.

Laurel Lynch, the CEO of Hope Family Services brings to the documentary her passion and determination to help women find a safe and secure way out for themselves and their children. Proceeds from this event will benefit Hope Family Services.

The full-length documentary A WAY OUT is produced and written in conjunction with Charles E. Williams and Durand Adams, the team that also co-produced the award-winning documentaries Through The Tunnel and The Enduring Beauty of Memory.

The 8pm screening, on Oct. 24th at the Manatee Performing Arts Center will be preceded by a Red Carpet Reception from 6:30-8pm. Immediately following the screening, artists from the Del Couch Music Foundation will be performing their original music from the film. There will also be an opportunity to meet the participants from the film and the filmmakers.
