The Ringling Presents Phantom Bodies: The Human Aura in Art.
This lecture will be presented by Mark W. Scala, Chief Curator, of the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville, Tennessee. In discussing the representation of the absent body, Scala will explore ways that a work of art can be infused with an invisible presence, an aura, that leads to a feeling of connection to the missing or dead.
